Keiya’s 4.0 demonstrates a strong desire to excel in school and almost everything he involves himself. As the Project Manager of the National Honor Society, he made it a priority to help over 150 students in the club discover a love and passion for STEM. Keiya’s commitment to helping others through education inspired him to open a social media account, Keiyacademics, where he posts useful information like tips and tricks on college essays, tutorials on filling out documents like fee waivers for Bright Futures, etc. Keiya is the group organizer for the Plywood Regatta, plays tennis and serves as an international teachers’ assistant at his previous middle school in Japan. He found a passion for physics when he first took a physics class as a junior in high school. This physics class intrigued Keiya to study nuclear energy. He has a desire to change the stigma around nuclear science from many negatives to positives by being a person who leads the changing narrative surrounding atomic energy. Keiya plans to attend the University of Florida’s Nuclear Engineering Program.
