A Take Stock in Children scholar, Alexis Smith, is from Sarasota County, graduated from Pine View School, and was enrolled at the State College of Florida. She earned a 4.83 GPA and was a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, she was a member of the National Hispanic Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta in high school. She attended the University of Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. She is an alum of Sigma Alpha Professional Sorority. Alexis is now married with two beautiful children, Dawsyn and Will. Alexis is certified to teach pre-K through 3rd grade, has a reading endorsement, and teaches 2nd grade.
