A Take Stock in Children scholar, Allysa Quick, hails from Marion County and attended Vanguard High School. Allysa earned a 4.57 GPA and ranked 49th in her senior class of 390 students. She participated in the International Baccalaureate Program, as an AP Scholar, in the National Honor Society, and as a Take Stock Ambassador. She also belonged to EcoKnights and a Literacy Club. Allysa donated her spare time to programs such as UNICEF, Rise Above Project, and Conservation International. Allysa graduated from Florida State University in May 2019 with dual honors. While at the university, she volunteered in the ABHC lab, participating in research presentations and recently coauthoring a published manuscript. She went on to earn a master’s degree in applied statistics and now works for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as a database associate, where she contributes to ongoing studies regarding women’s health.
