Joel graduated from Immokalee High as a salutatorian with a GPA of 4.0. Along with my acceptance to FGCU and into FGCU’s Honors College. Since June 2022, he has volunteered at the Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida’s dental department in Immokalee, where he assisted in translating Spanish, prep operatories, and sterilizing dental instruments. In return, Joel received the necessary dental experience interactions with the patients and dental professionals during the various procedures. Additionally, he will be one of 30 FGCU students traveling to Honduras in 2023 with Global Medical Bridges, a club at FGCU that provides free medical care at a village clinic. Joel plans to apply to the College of Dentistry at the University of Florida.
