Michael graduated from Hudson High School and ranked 3rd out of 237 students in his graduating class, with a weighted GPA of 4.41 and an unweighted GPA of a perfect 4.0. He is a first-generation college student. He was busy with studies and his involvement with the National Honor Society, the Cambridge Program, and the high school basketball team, where he was co-captain. Michael also volunteered as a junior counselor at his local Boys and Girls Club. As a student at Florida State University, he is double majoring in Finance and Accounting. Michael will be entering the Business College ahead of schedule and would like to further his degree, completing his Master’s degree in Finance. Michael is on the dean’s list at FSU and has completed 42 credit hours. Michael is also in the CARES program at FSU and is involved with the bowling and car clubs on campus. Michael’s favorite thing to do at FSU is attend FSU college football games. Michael was able to experience sporting events for the first time in his life while attending FSU, and he has become a huge fan. He is extremely close with his father and refers to his father as his best friend, superhero, mentor, and rock. Michael’s grandfather, who has passed away, had a dream of going to Florida State University as a student one day when he was alive. Michael is living his grandfather’s dream and knows that his grandfather is watching over him and is with him every step of the way. Michael credits his leadership and determination to his dad and grandparents. “A leader must outwork everybody, show compassion toward others, and put their feelings ahead of yours.
