Thuy was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States in 2001. With the support of TSIC and L4L, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. Thuy earned her medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine, becoming the first person in her family to do so. She is training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Connecticut (UConn). Thuy currently serves on the national Board of Directors for the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association (EMRA) as the secretary and the Editor-in-Chief of EM Resident, EMRA’s official publication. Recently, Thuy and her teammates represented UConn at the national assembly for the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine and won first place against 91 other teams in SonoGames. After graduating from residency, she will move to New York City to complete a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Columbia University. She enjoys reading, working out, hiking, baking, and traveling in her free time. Thuy remains forever grateful to TSIC and L4L for helping her reach her potential.
