Tyniyah graduated Crestview High School as the first African American Valedictorian with a weighted GPA of 4.7. She also graduated with her associate’s degree from Northwest Florida State College, prior to graduating high school. She participated in  HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) health professionals’ organization, earning several awards: 1st place in regionals for two years, 1st place in Florida, and 4th internationally.

As well as HOSA, she was active as the vice president of the National Honor Society, a member of the Multicultural Council, Student Government, and SSTRIDE (Science Students Together Reaching Instructional Diversity & Excellence), a program through Florida State University.

Tyniyah attended New Life International Worship Center and had several leadership roles: Worship leader, praise dancer, soloist, youth choir director, and Sunday school teacher. Tyniyah feels that “Leadership is all about making kindness normal.”  She currently attends the University of Florida, as a Machen Florida Opportunity Scholar and as a Gates Scholar. She recently became a member of the National Society of Black Women in Medicine at UF, while majoring in Health Education & Behavior on the pre-med track to become an internal medicine physician.
